Struggling in Oklahoma

I'm beginning to wonder if anyone reads these blogs.  It seems to me that something might rate a comment. Writing down the things that are important is an activity that helps everyone.  I realize that Windows 8 and Just Plain Folks Organization, Inc. isn't everyone's life.  It is a big part of mine.  I want to help those who can't help themselves. I don't have the money to advertise.  This Blog, the one at http://my.opera.com/jpfolks, the web site at http://www.jpfolks2.com, http://portal.jpfolks2.com, and http://the-software-shoppe.jpfolks2.com are what I do. I have plenty problems but with everyone's help, just a little help, I can save our home, Organization,  and pay our bills.  I may be going blind but I can still work. Let me help you and your business. If your disabled go the the Just Plain Folks Organization, Inc. Site listed above and let us get a computer to you.  If your able send us an older computer to recycle for the disabled. Contact Us at this blog or through one of the web sites.

HTC Phones

The New AT&T HTC Phone is slightly older technology than some of the others on the market, THAT means it WORKS.  Unlike the Sharp, Android, or Windows (Motorola) phones the rest of my family has. 3G may be slower than the 4G in the larger cities but all the apps work.  It's a matter of choice, I suppose, to wait until the new becomes the proven to use it, but it sure keeps the Frustration Low.

Windows 8 Developer 64 Bit Preview

This is a positive improvement!  Windows 8 is solid with a wider range appeal than Windows 7 or Windows Vista.  The Metro style menu gives access with the ease of a web page.  The memory requirements are essentially the same as Windows 7 but the functionality at 1MB or RAM is greater as is the speed.  All in all, Windows 8 will be a winner for Microsoft.

Costly PPO's in America

The average Wal-Mart employee makes about $8.00 per hour.  The Standard health PPO plan for a Wal-Mart employee runs about $80.00 every two weeks.  The cost will double in 2012.  The new rates are already posted.  That means that about 40% of the average employee's take home every two weeks will go to health care.  That means that without some reform (i.e. The Canadian Model, The UK Model, or Something Else) the employee's home, car, and food budgets are well below poverty level.  I used Wal-Mart as an example because their easy to get data on.  This kind of "Poverty" is rampant in "Right to Work" States across the United States.  Texas is creating more jobs but the average wage in Texas for non-salaried employees has fallen to under $8.00 per hour.  Something is wrong with this picture.
